Simple Indonesian Recipe - Fresh Patin Bumbu Kuning Soup

During this dry hot season, Indonesians usually love serving fish soup to the member of the family. There are many kinds of soup such as; sayur asam. sayur bening, sup sayuran, ikan bumbu kuning etc. Those are some famous Indonesian fresh soup.
This time I'd love to introduce you to easy to make fresh fish soup called Patin Bumbu Kuning. It is really easy to make that you can try to make it at home too.
The ingredients:
5 medium size of shallots
3 medium size cloves of garlic
turmeric (not too much)
ginger (not too much)
salt (as you like)
1 lemon grass
2 kaffir lime leaves

Grind all the ingredients |
Two or three spoons of lemon juice (or you can use 4 or 5 Belimbing Wuluh,known too as carambola fruits)
One big of Patin fish (you can use other river fish of you don't have Patin fish in your country)
Cut it into several pieces.
4 cups of water
How to make it?
Put all the ingredients on a grinder or in a blender without the lemon grass and the kaffir lime laeves. Grind them all or blend them all. After they are grounded very well, put in the kefir lime leaves and the lemon grass (press it first so you get the nice smell of it for your soup later).

Boil the water and then put all the grounded or the blended spices after it boils. Let it boils around 8 minutes to ten minutes. After 10 minutes put in the fish into the soup. Put in some sugar, lemon juice or cut up carambola fruits. Leave the fish and the ingredients boiled for more or less 25 minutes (until the fish is well cooked).
Put it in a bowl and leave it warm or cold. The soup is ready to serve You can serve it with or without warm rice.
